Château de Grignan - Drôme

The Château de Grignan, located in the Drôme region, is an iconic 16th-century monument. Built on the foundations of an older medieval fort, it was transformed into a luxurious residence by the Castellane family and later acquired by the Counts of Grignan in the 17th century. This château is particularly associated with Madame de Sévigné, who spent several years there and wrote many of her famous letters. A true gem of Renaissance architecture, the château overlooks the village of Grignan and is now a major tourist site, offering a glimpse into the history and aristocratic life of the period.
