Hôtel de la Païva - Paris
Recreation of an embossed wallpaper for the Hôtel de la Païva in the Grand Dining Room. The Hôtel de la Païva is a Parisian private mansion built between 1856 and 1865 at 25 Avenue des Champs-Élysées by La Païva, born Esther Lachman (1819-1884), a Russian adventuress of modest Polish origin who became a Portuguese marchioness and later a Prussian countess. She hosted legendary parties there, which remain famous to this day.
