The Lockwood-Mathews - Mansion Museum

The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion, built between 1864 and 1868 in Norwalk, is a masterpiece of Second Empire architecture in the United States. Once the residence of financier LeGrand Lockwood, it embodies Victorian luxury with its modern innovations. Saved from demolition in the 1960s, it is now a museum designated as a National Historic Landmark. L’Atelier d’Offard has restored an exceptional wallpaper, originally selected by the Lockwoods at the 1867 Exposition Universelle, preserving the elegance and craftsmanship of the era.
